Our Story
It all began with a simple mission: to create sun protection we could trust for the people we love most. After an inspiring journey to Indonesia, we discovered generations-old traditions that relied on pure, earth-derived ingredients to protect and nourish the skin. That experience sparked a deeper curiosity and ultimately revealed an unsettling truth—products labeled "natural" aren't always as clean, safe, or thoughtfully formulated as they appear. What began as a pursuit of exceptional sun care soon evolved into something much greater. Today, Meadow & Bark creates luxurious, high-performance skincare, body care, sun care, and fragrance designed to restore what modern life takes away. Every formula is crafted with the highest-quality ingredients, ethically sourced whenever possible and organically grown when available, blending advanced botanical science with purposeful formulation to deliver visible results and an elevated daily ritual. Our commitment has remained the same from the very beginning: to create products that are as effective as they are beautiful—helping you protect, nourish, and restore your skin through every season of life.

We grow what we can in Long Beach and thoughtfully source the rest from around the world, prioritizing women-led co-ops and sustainable communities whenever possible. Every formula blends nature’s finest botanicals with clinically advanced ingredients—from peptides and plant stem cells to next-generation vitamin C—for uncompromising performance.
Packaging
We believe that our packaging should be just as eco-friendly as our product. The dark violet glass is designed to protect its contents by keeping the damaging uv light rays out while bamboo packaging is one of the most sustainable options on the planet.
How We Give Back
1% of proceeds go to charities supporting environmental, women’s rights and cancer research. We are inspired supporters of the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center and just adopted our first turtle nests which hatched in February of 2022!
